Welcome to the Cowichan Station Area Association (CSAA)

Charitable Number: 807706155RR0001

The CSAA brings neighbours together to enhance and protect the livability, sustainability, and cultural heritage of our area.  When the community’s only public building, a 100-year old school, was closed in 2006, we stepped up to restore and run the school as an arts and recreation centre, The HUB.

The Cowichan Station Area Association acknowledges that our community is located on the traditional lands and unceded territory of the Quw’utsun’ people. We are deeply grateful to live in this place, which as unceded territory still rightfully belongs to the people who have been keepers of these lands since time immemorial. Read more

Somatic Movement

We’ve added another class!

Wednesdays 9-10am

Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm

Somatic movement allows us to become aware of and experience the wisdom of our living body. It allows us to move in ways that strengthen our whole body connectivity and can restore a sense of well being and relaxation to the body and mind.

Melissa is passionate about supporting people to move with more ease and pleasure in their own bodies. Inspired and awed by the natural intelligence and resilience of the human body she is continually exploring pathways for health, mobility and living fully with pain and discomfort.

Learn to deepen body awareness and tune in to your body’s own wisdom. Explore new ways of moving and develop tools and practices that can be taken into daily life.

Our disc golf course was built and continues to be maintained by volunteers. Donations are accepted to help us provide this space for community use.

The Totem Pole has been raised!

On October 15th, the CSAA was honoured to formally receive and raise a totem pole gifted by Kwakwaka’wakw artist, Rupert Scow. Hundreds of community members gathered to witness, raise and celebrate together in a public ceremony. Just over a year ago, Rupert was welcomed by Quw’utsun elders, to complete the carving of his totem pole. Rupert welcomed everyone to share in the process of this special project.
